Steve Trapani


Steve Trapani, bass trombonist, is currently a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Sacramento Choral Society and Sacramento Opera Orchestras, and is on faculty at California State University, Fresno. Steve was a member of the New York City Opera National Company from 1998 until 2000. A native of Fairfield, California, Steve is active as a free-lance bass trombonist and performs with such orchestras as: the San Francisco Symphony, Opera and Ballet Orchestras, the Santa Rosa Symphony, and numerous others. Steve has performed in Italy with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the batons of Zubin Mehta, Ricardo Muti, and Semyon Bychkov. Steve has toured and recorded with John Tesh, and has recorded for the motion picture industry. Steve's principal teachers are John Engelkes, bass trombonist of the San Francisco Symphony, and Jeff Reynolds, bass trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. steve@sfbrasscompany.com
