Gayle Winney, Education Director

Ms. Winney holds a BA in Music Education and an MA in Education.  A successful teacher for over ten years, Winney is a decorated music teacher in the San Juan Unified School District. Some of her more recent accomplishments include a San Juan Teacher of the Year nomination, Schools Financial Credit Union Teaching Award and a grant from the Airborne Teacher Trust Fund. In addition to her duties as Education Director of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Ms. Winney teaches at Citrus Heights Elementary where she founded the Citrus Heights Elementary Choir. She also serves as administrator of the violin and band programs at the same school. Ms. Winney is one of the key teachers responsible for reviving the string program in the San Juan Unified School District.
