A recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships, Gary Dilworth is currently Professor of Trumpet Studies at California State University, Sacramento. Professor Dilworth holds degrees in trumpet performance and orchestral conducting from the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music where he studied trumpet with Eugene Blee and Marie Speziale, and conducting with the late Maestro Thomas Schippers. As a professional musician, Mr. Dilworth has performed with the Sacramento Symphony, Sacramento Chamber Music Society, the CSUS Fine Arts Brass Ensemble, School-Room Symphony Productions, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, The Sacramento Gold Country Chamber Orchestra, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the Romanian National Radio Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati "Pops" Orchestra, Cincainnatti Opera and Ballet Orchestras, Dayton Philharmonic, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, and the International Trumpet Guild's Festival of Trumpets. He has also recorded on the Tel Arc label with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Eric Kunzel. His text Fundamentals of Music - Recorder, Piano and Theory is published by Kendall /Hunt Publications. Professor Dilworth was the 1991-92 recipient of a Fulbright Visiting Artist Award to Taiwan, R.O.C., where he performed with and coached the brass section of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. During his residency with the TSO, he presented numerous lecture recitals and master classes throughout Taiwan. He later returned for a second residency with the Taipei City Symphony Orchestra, which included two guest appearances in the prestigious National Concert Hall  at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Park. Recently, professor Dilworth was awarded a second Fulbright Fellowship to Romania where he served as Senior Scholar/Artist in Residence at the National University of Music in Bucharest. During his visit to Romania, Mr. Dilworth also presented clinics in Bucharest, Timisoara, and performed with the Romainian National Radio Orchestra and National Radio Orchestra Brass. He recently developed and conducted for Teatrul National de Opereta "ION DANCIAN" in a performance Broadway Bucuresti in Bucharest. Conscience and the Constitution, a PBS documentary produced by Frank Abe in association with the Independent Television Service with funding provided by PBS and trumpet solos by Mr. Dilworth, recieved the People's Choice Award at the 2000 15th Los Angeles Pacific Film and Video Festival. Mr. Dilworth also performed the American premiere of the Theme and Variations for Trumpet and Orchestra by Armenian composer Alexander Arutunian, and was a featured soloist at the Festival of the Musica de Organo (Xunqueria, Orense and Tui, Pontevedra), Festival de la Ribagorza (Grous, Huesca), Ciclo Internacional de Organo Musica Sacra - Torreciudad, and Segovia International Music Festival in Spain. In addition to his performance activities, Professor Dilworth continues to present master classes in Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, United States and Romania. He has adjudicated for the Chemberry Conservatory, Grenoble Conservatory, Superior Conservatory of Lyon, France and for the George Georgescu Concursul International de Interpretare Instrumentala in Tulca, Romania.
