Anita began her artistic endeavors as a ballet dancer and later changed course, starting her musical studies with her mother, violinist Nicholette Fetsch. After attending U.O.P. Conservatory of Music, Drake University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison, she became a member of the Omaha Symphony, Nebraska Sinfonia, and Omaha Symphony String Quartet. Additionally, she has performed in the former Sacramento Symphony, Festival of New American Music in Sacramento, Colorado Music Festival, Festival of the Lakes , Festival of the Desert, International Music Festival, Music from Bear Valley, Peter Britt Festival, and the Sacramento area Bach Festival orchestras. She was formerly assistant concertmaster of the Stockton Symphony. Highlights include being selected as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and breaking into the nationally organized Community Concert Series, playing before a very appreciative audience in the capacity filled Hutchins Street Square auditorium in Lodi, one of the finest regional performing stages, and performing as soloist in the UC Davis Mondavi Center in 2004. In the summer of 2003 Anita was guest artist/lecturer with her father at the Colorado based Amateur Pianists International Competition. Since 1994, Anita has performed with her father, Stockton pianist and professor emeritus of piano performance at the U.O.P Conservatory, Wolfgang Fetsch under the name Duo Concertante, presenting virtuosic violin and piano duo literature. Their music outreach has extended from Mendocino to San Diego, including San Francisco, Fresno, Berkeley, Monterey, the San Joaquin valley and Colorado. In 2004 "Duo Concertante" expanded into the area of fundraising by presenting audience pleasing selections arranged by Wolfgang Fetsch that are designed to develop an audience and interest the press. Most recently very successful fundraising performances have been held for the U.O.P. Dewey Chambers Literacy Center in Stockton, The Eukel Teacher Trust in Walnut Creek and the Sonora Bach Festival in Sonora. Anita lives with her husband, Michael, and has instilled the love of music and dance in her two daughters who both study ballet, violin and flute. |
